Panettone x Fruit Cake

Italian panettone and Lions Club fruit cake - both arriving at your door every Christmas, whether you asked for them or not. The perfect item to re-gift.

Sugo x Tomato Sauce

Every Italian-Australian family makes their own sugo. Rosella is a non-negotiable in the pantry. Both involve stained shirts and strong opinions.

Olive Oil x Margarine

Olive oil meets margarine. Italian-Australian staples, even though the margarine rarely ever had margarine in it.

Salsiccia x Snag

The salsicce hanging in the shed, and the Bunnings snag your parents got you when you were dragged along to buy said shed. Two pillars of Australian culture.

40 cards | 4 suits | 1 culture | ∞ arguments |

Two cultures, one deck

Italian suited cards have been played for centuries - Scopa, Briscola, Tressette, Sette e Mezzo. The four suits of swords, cups, coins, and clubs have remained almost unchanged since the 16th century. Australiani takes this heritage and gives it a distinctly Aussie twist. The suits become the pantry staples and backyard icons of every Italian-Australian household: panettone x fruit cake, homemade sugo x tomato sauce, olive oil x margarine, salsicca x the Bunnings snag. The Knight becomes a Kangaroo. The cards tell the story of migration, family, and the beautiful cultural fusion that happens when Italy meets Australia across the dinner table.
